Genre: a style especially in the arts, that involves a particular set of characteristics

Hybrid: mixture of two or more genres 

Sub-genres: categories that a genre can be divided into.

horror- comedy, romance, thriller, paranormal, gore/disgusting, killer, psychological, monster.

Animation- frozen,Aladdin, lion king, the grinch, charlie brown, the lego movie, Paddington bear,minions,despicable me,  frozen 2, Shrek

L/o: to implement genre codes & conventions


trailers: toy story 4, the grinch,frozen 2,minions, boss baby, puss in boots,

all the music in most of the trailers is very upbeat and energetic 

they are all bright and use bright colours through out all the trailers

they all have a storyline that involves going somewhere to find something or  achieve something they want

they shot changes often but not quickly

they all give the release date out some give some of the names of the actors and the directors name 

recipe for animation trailer:

ingredients:

colourful
computer generated 
energetic music
a mixture of people
busy area

method:
1) place a group of 2-5 people into a busy city or land that no one has heard of before
2)add energetic music into the trailer to set the mood
3)add some bright colours into the background and surrounding areas
4)add the release dat at the end with the directors name if wanted 
5) the storyline based on something they want to achieve or where they find something important to the film to shape the trailer around the storyline
6)don't add too many spoilers just enough to let the audience know what the film is about and who plays what character and the basics of the storyline.
